Trading Pokémon with other players can incur different stardust costs. Below, we’ve laid out the costs for standard Pokémon along with Shiny and Legendary options, including specific costs depending on your friendship level with other players and whether the Pokémon is registered in your dex or not.

How do I trade in Pokémon Go?

Trading in Pokémon Go has a few requirements before you can start giving away your Pidgeys to anyone. Firstly, you need to be over level ten, friends with any Trainer you wish to trade with, and you need to be in close range of them. If the player is outside a 100m radius, the trades won’t work.

Once you’re both close by and ready to go, complete the following steps:

• Click your avatar
• Open the friends menu
• Choose the friend you want to trade with
• Click the ‘trade’ option
• In this screen, choose the Pokémon you want to trade

Both parties need to accept the trade before it works, but if all goes accordingly, you should now have a brand new Pokémon in your pocket. While you can trade Shiny and Legendary Pokémon, you can’t trade any Mythicals.

Most Pokémon generations have certain Pokémon that only evolve when traded with another player. This carries over to Pokémon Go, where the following critters must be traded with another player before you can evolve them.
