Stardew Valley’s Krobus is a precious character that deserves your friendship, which is beneficial for the pair of you, given he sells some good stuff, and it’s cool to be able to say you’re friends with a literal monster. Admittedly, the fact he’s still pals with the creatures that want to harm you can be offputting, but don’t let that deter you, especially if you’re in the market for a roommate with no romantic ties.
Like other Stardew Valley characters, Krobus has preferences for his favorite movies and gifts and has a couple of heart events for you to experience. However, no matter how close you two get, he isn’t going to help run your farm, so you should read up on how to build a Stardew Valley silo; without one, you can’t look after your precious animals.
Here’s everything you need to know about Stardew Valley’s Krobus:
What are the best Stardew Valley Krobus gifts?
If you don’t like a gift, the chances are Krobus does, as he’s all for those monstrous goodies that most villagers hate. If you don’t want to be his friend, give him nice things.
Reaction | Gift |
Love | Universal loves, monster compendium, void egg, diamond, monster musk, wild horseradish, pumpkin, void mayonnaise, iridium bar |
Like | Universal likes (except life elixir and all cooking), strange bun, seafoam pudding, gold bar, quartz |
Neutral | Universal neutrals (except monster compendium), all eggs (except void egg), all milk, all fruit (except salmonberry and fruit tree fruit) |
Dislike | Universal dislikes (except gold bar, void egg, and iridium bar), all cooking (except fried egg, strange bun, seafoam pudding, and bread), hazelnut, salmonberry, snow yam, ginger, winter root, magma cap, chanterelle, daffodil, dandelion, common mushroom, leek, holly, life elixir, morel, purple mushroom |
Hate | Universal hates (except strange bun, void mayonnaise, seafoam pudding, and monster musk) |
What are Stardew Valley Krobus’ heart events?
While most citizens have at least three or four heart events for you to experience, Krobus has just two, though he’s the only one outside of a romance that you can have a 14 heart event with, and it’s quite adorable. Typically, you either need to be married to someone like Stardew Valley’s Maru or Stardew Valley’s Sebastian to experience such an event. Even outside of romance, Krobus is one of a kind, as friends like Stardew Valley’s Marnie tend to cap out at eight, so Krobus is quite special in the friends department.
Event | How to trigger |
Three hearts | Krobus sends the recipe for dark sign in the mail |
14 hearts | Go to the Beach between 8pm and 1am on a non-rainy day, you’ll see Krobus sitting on the dock, then a sea monster appears and Krobus goes for a ride on it. Don’t worry about your pal; the love heart bubble above his head indicates he likes it |
What are Krobus’ favorite movies and concessions?
Krobus makes me miss Stardew Valley’s Leo. That boy adores the movies and loves all the good snacks. Krobus hates all but one movie and loves one of the worst concessions. I might have to rethink our friendship to be honest.
Movie | Concession | |
Love | N/A | Black licorice |
Dislike | It Howls In The Rain, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, Wumbus, The Brave Little Sapling, Journey Of The Prairie King: The Motion Picture, The Zuzu City Express, The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch | Cotton candy, stardrop sorbet, rock candy, apple slices, cappuccino mouse cake, jawbreaker, apple slices, chocolate popcorn, joja cola, jojacorn, star cookie |
Like | Mysterium | Everything else |
Can you marry Stardew Valley’s Krobus?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no, you can’t declare your love for Krobus and marry him – he’s a monster, literally. However, you can become very close friends with him, even living together as roommates if you don’t want to share such a big commitment with a romantic partner. You can even more Krobus in if you get a divorce and he’ll help look after your kids if you have any. What a good guy.
If you want to give marriage a shot, you need to get to know people such as Stardew Valley’s Emily and Stardew Valley’s Harvey, though there are plenty more singletons if they’re not the ones for you.
How do I make Krobus my roommate?
If you’re not married, you can shack up with Krobus by making him your roommate – a human and monster being roommates sounds like the basis of a TV show – but it does still require you to give away an item. Instead of a mermaid pendant, you need to offer Krobus a void ghost pendant, and as he also adds his own room, like a spouse, you need to upgrade your farmhouse so he can move in. While a lot of your relationship is similar to that of a marriage, you can’t expect him to do chores, give you a kiss, or have children.
However, there are perks you get that a spouse doesn’t offer. For instance, Krobus doesn’t get jealous when you give out gifts, whereas your husband or wife most certainly kicks up a stink about it. If you do make Krobus your roommate, a chest will replace him in the sewers. If you want to send him back to where he came from, you don’t have to spend any money. This isn’t a divorce, though you still need to pay the mayor a visit. However, this does effectively ruin your friendship, so make sure you wipe his memory at the Dark Shrine of Memory if you want to start over.
